SF Bay Area- extensive city bus system, Muni rail and Bart heavy rail, suburbs are relatively well-served for US standards
Seattle is not bad- you will see "normal" people taking it, so it's not looked down on as in other US cities
LA is underwhelming for its size, but is ok for Sunbelt standards- there is a multi-line rail system and the bus routes are fairly extensive though long-winded
none of the big West Coast cities are as bad as Southern cities for public transit
