The problem with this thread is that the Midwest is not as culturally cohesive as the other regions of the country. It is mostly a geographic entity.

Buffalo is nothing like these other 3 cites, so how can they all feel "Midwestern"?

Would anyone say Colorado Springs, Salt Lake City, and Boise have a Midwestern feel in terms of people's attitudes?

These are the Northeastern Cities that have Midwestern culture and lifestyle, etc. The Midwest is a cultural region which can vary in size while the Northeast is a geographical region.

They are not part of the eastern region with the exception of Buffalo, Erie, Pittsburgh, and Toronto. The West begins in the US approximately at 100 degrees latitude, about halfway through the Great Plains states.

I don't really agree. I see little "West Coast" in states like Utah, Idaho, and Montana. They might be similar to rural and inland parts of Western states in certain ways, but I think the Rockies have a culture that's equally distinct from the West Coast and the Midwest.

I agree with you that Denver doesn't feel Midwestern, but somewhere like Fort Collins feels very similar to Nebraska in my opinion.

Definitely Louisville. Maybe Lexington, too.

I'm shocked no one said Pittsburgh. I also agree with Louisville, though.
