damn dude...30k in savings is great!

I'd check into PHX. Great weather, tons of job opportunities, recovering housing market (great time to build equity) and a very young population in the Scottsdale area.

I think you should try Dallas, TX, Austin, TX or major cities in Arizona -- Black people seem to fair well there in my opinion. I lived in the DFW area for 6 years and though I got sick of certain cultural aspects, it was a nice easy life, people were friendly and as a Black Woman, I got a lot more respect in general than many other places in the country I've lived in.

Southern California, south Florida, Tampa Bay, or Greater Orlando would all work.

Raleigh/Durham/Chapel Hill fits almost all of the criteria. Maybe the Gulf Coast and places like Mobile AL or Mississippi cities like Biloxi, Gulfport, Moss Point, etc. With the latter, it puts you close to New Orleans.

I agree with Raleigh/Durham/Chapel Hill. The only thing is it snows ever so often and doesn't have a great nightlife scene.
