Houston? Yes. The others? Not so much.

All I'm saying is that I don't understand why MOST of the suggestions in this thread clearly don't meet all of the OP's requirements. His post screams Florida, if you ask me, but I think I've only seen two other people besides myself suggest it.

Sorry I posted this in the wrong section I thought this was the Florida section and don't know how to delete the forum so theirs no need to answer thank you
Some people suggested Jacksonville. I just want to clarify, presumably this is on your radar because
1) It's on the ocean
2) We have a an extremely high percentage of African-Americans.

And yes, I agree it's a city for you to look into, but it is also lacking in some areas relative to the places you mentioned. Jobs, night clubs, and colleges, while available in Jax, are not gonna be as abundant as Fort Lauderdale and Atlanta. They're just much larger areas...so if that's your mindset then Jax might not have enough of what you want.

I don't find South Florida to be very welcoming for African Americans. Ft. Lauderdale might be better than Miami, but in general the region lacks the black middle class that you would find in other cities that might fit your criteria like LA or Houston. Although not as warm and sunny or near the beach, Atlanta and Charlotte would be my next suggestions.

South Florida, not really. Tampa area, yes. There is a strong black middle class there.

Atlanta is overrrated dude.
Yes, it has the whole african american vibe thing going for it. but it's cold in the winter and it isn't necessarily all that sunny either. it's just overrated. you're not even near a beach. Lame.

Ft Lauderdale is a good idea. Def diverse, AAs, hispanics, whites, not many asians, but whatever.
South FL in general is where I was going to suggest Anywhere from miami up through hollywood and fort lauderdale to pompano, boca, and west palm beach. . . Those are the best parts of FL.

Charlotte is boring. Like, please. whoever suggested that must be cray.

Houston, TX might be cool to for you

Houston, LA, Inland Empire/San Bernadino CA, Dallas, Atlanta, Charlotte, Raleigh-Durham, Tampa, Miami, Ft. Lauderdale all options. Maybe New Orleans.
