Perhaps if you tried it with her at home rather in the mall, you might meet with more success.

Just sayin'

What about Kentucky, Arkansas, Texas and Oklahoma? Also where do you stand on southern West Virginia?

Unfortunately Virginia is one of the least Southern. But Florida is much less Southern than Virginia by a long shot.

Based on what's been written regarding the people and culture of the Southern United States, the people and culture of Georgia, and the people and culture of Louisiana, characteristically, the more southern state would be Georgia because it lacks the outliers that Louisiana has in it's profile.

But Louisiana is all Deep South which is usually perceived as the most Southern part of the South, whereas Georgia is Deep South in its bottom half but Upper South in its top half. So I can see an argument for either being considered "more Southern" than the other.
