- Relatively relaxed and laid back (not super crowded or stressful)
- Good job opportunities to work in Marketing or Advertising
- Not too hot / humid and doesn't rain all the time (four seasons would be ideal but not a deal breaker)
- An educated populace
- Has a certain level of excitement / vibrancy (not a city that doesn't sleep but a city that has entertainment options beyond going to dinner and a movie)
- Fairly safe and clean
You might not think it's a viable option but would suggest Salt Lake City, particularly if you've never been and are operating on stereotypes. It pretty much fits your criteria.
Well, he's looking for "4 seasons" so Minneapolis and Denver would be viable options, some of the others not so much. Would Madison, WI be too small? If not, it fits your crime/clean/laid back points better than any of the above, and it's a very educated populace, since it's much more of a college town than the other options listed.
Honestly I think most all of the options listed previously don't fit your criteria.
+ San Francisco, San Diego, and San Jose don't have four seasons.
+ Salt Lake City most likely does not have many entertainment options beyond dinner and a movie, unless we are talking about outdoor recreation and not nightlife.
+ Denver and Minneapolis.... probably. The best of the bunch.
In addition to those, take a look at Cincinnati. Why?
Cincinnati is a marketing powerhouse. P&G, Macy's, Kroger, dunnhumbyUSA, Luxottica, KAO brands, E.W. Scripps are all companies which hire a ton of marketing people. That doesn't even include other major operations in the metro which require marketing people like Toyota's North American HQ, GE Aviation, etc. And Cincy meets all of your criteria well.

All have enough nightlife ranging from shows, sports, the arts to a dinner and a movie. All have four seasons and nice urban areas with things going on within each metro. You could probably find these things in a couple of other areas up here, but I think these 3 fit the criteria the best. Here are some neighborhoods that come to mind: Center Square Neighborhood In Albany NY - Downtown Albany Community Near Lark Street Lark Street BID :: Welcome
As for other potential areas that may work, places like Omaha, Madison WI and Columbus OH come to mind.
