So I've narrowed down my list to:

- Portland, OR
- New York, NY
- Los Angeles, CA (previously lived here)
- Seattle, WA

Affordability and employment are very important. I like the weather and landscape of the Pacific NW, but I like the cultures of all the places I listed. Anyways, any thoughts on these cities, or other suggestions based off the cities I listed? Thanks.

Affordability in terms of what? Is there anything else you are looking for in a city/area?

Here we go again...

1. How much money do you have saved?
2. What degrees do you have/employment history?
3. What is your monthly budget?

Moving is expensive. Give us hard facts and we can help you.

I have $10,000 saved, no debts. No degrees, only high school. My employment history is nothing near attractive, just retail. Basically I would like to room with someone (or several people) and pay around $500 a month in rent. Obviously I understand that those cities are more expensive, but I'd rather live in a not-so-great apt. with a couple of people barely getting by than living in a place I
don't enjoy with more money. Trust me, I've experienced both, and I know which one I prefer. Anyways, I pick those cities because I like their weather and environment, culture and lifestyle, and music. My life is my music and I need to be somewhere which holds my music environment, which they all do.

Drizzle and grey is the perfect weather to me.

In LA can't you find cheaper stuff further away from the centre of the city that is still in a nice area?
