I have never spent time in the Midwest. I've lived in the NE, the NW, the SW and the SE but not the Midwest. Here is my impression:
every person I've ever met from the Midwest is kind and honest. Now, I realize this is just a much a generalization as any extreme negative views out there. I realize there are good and bad people everywhere. But I have never heard anything bad about people from the Midwest--the stereotype I know and hear is how people from the Midwest are good, honest people.
Now...having lived in all the places above, I have never heard anyone stereotyped as much as Northerners are stereotyped in the South. I cannot stand how Southerners I've met (and on this forum) lump all Northerners into "loud, rude, obnoxious" category.

OK, just read the responses. Didn't realize this was gettiing political. I'm a big-time liberal. Please don't ruin my perception of kind Midwesterners by saying even one liberal is too many!! Notice I didn't come down on conservatives in the Midwest (or anywhere else). WhY? Because there are good and bad of every political/social view!!

18Montclair, thanks for the response.
Progressive in this nature means that you should suddenly change your beliefs; man, 10 years ago I disagreed with gay marriage and abortion. But, to be progressive, I'm changing all of my views and beliefs!
Might want to try a course in reading comprehension.

So long as your team wins, to hell with America, right?
Thankfully, most of his supporters have finally woken up and realized what's been going on for the past 7 years.

Sorry, but you don't seem to be making any sense. I have not an ounce of respect for John Kerry. I am not a big Bush supporter, but I am most certainly a Kerry hater.
I will always vote for the lesser of 2 evils.
To hell with America? I believe that if Obama or Clinton get in to office next year, this country is going to hell in a handbasket (pardon my cliche). Your idea of an "American hell" is obviously different from mine; but again, typical liberals usually despise others with contrasting views (that's when they get to their name calling, yelling, conniving remarks, etc...like you are at this time, actually).

All of this is worthless now^
Because any and all moral superiority conservatives may have had in the past(be it real or imagined) is gone. It died in Iraq together with all those brave soldiers.
Please spare us any further lib vs con hyperbole, today its right vs wrong and most people now know which is which. I only wish it happened sooner but I have faith that we'll b e able to correct all the colossal blunders of this administration.

Your right is my wrong, my wrong is your right. But again, you are a liberal so you don't have the ability to argue without using conniving remarks, and understand that others can have a different opinion than you. Therefore, there is no point in arguing. I'm talking to a wall.
