In the Phoenix area the biggest companies that operate here as well as being headquartered here are US Airways, Freeport McMoRan Copper&Gold, Avnet, PetSmart, Apollo Group, U-Haul, Banner Health. Bank of America and JPMorgan Chase have a huge corporate presence here as well. Intel has quite a large presence and also has a couple of plants here and one under construction.

I'm a Jacksonville buff so this may only interest me, but here we go anyway.

The guys with serious name recognition headquartered in Jax metro:
CSX
Fidelity National Financial
Fidelity National Information Services
Lender Processing Services
Venus Swimwear
Firehouse Subs
PGA Tour
ATP Tour (US Headquarters)
Salt Life
Vistakon (the Johnson & Johnson subsidiary that makes Acuvue products)
Fanatics Inc. (Largest online retailer of sports merchandise)
Web.com

Less well-known companies hq'ed in Jax:
Swisher International (Largest cigar manufacturer in the world)
Acosta Sales and Marketing (largest marketing company in the US)
Ring Power
Winn-Dixie/Bi-Lo (major regional grocery store brands)
Everbank
Rayonier
Landstar Systems
Suddath Systems
Mac Papers
Regency Centers (One of the largest Real Estate Investment Trusts. I've randomly come across their symbol at properties all over the country)
Stein Mart
Zurich Insurance
I Wear Your Shirt (The original guy who made a living wearing companies shirts on youtube)
Larry's Giant Subs
Woody's Barbecue
Buffet Crampon (the premiere clarinet manufacturer in the world has its US HQ in Jax)
Sally Corp (In its heyday they monopolized the animatronics market. You can still find their rides/machines at dozens of amusement parks around the world)

Not Headquartered here but birthplace was in Jax:
Landshark Lager (Anheuser Busch brand but brewed exclusively in Jax)
Burger King (First store was opened in Jax in 1953)
Blue Angels (Formed in Jacksonville in 1946)
JAX Beer (at one time a very popular brand in New Orleans, although it originated in Jax)

I left off some of the relatively "big players" cause I just filtered what I thought were probably the most significant and familiar companies from Jax.
