Why? L.A. is a world class city. Is it because L.A. has slums like every major city on the planet? Relative to its size, L.A. has several ghettos, but lets not dismiss the other half of L.A. that is world renowned and prestigious.
The majority of these cities come with zero prestige, especially the biggest ones. Everyone already lives there, how is that "prestigious?" Many of the others are only known regionally. Malibu, Vale, Jackson Hole, etc., would better fit the bill.
