Not surprisingly, the majority of the friendliest cities is traditionally southern and the unfriendliest is in the northeast/west coast areas

I think it doesn't matter ether South are most friendly than North, It is how the city/places Practices their social interaction. There is some places that North is more friendly than south like here in our country. And for the great information for the traveler's guide, I think doing some deep reaserch is more important in able you to know how the people friendly in that place.

I dunno. I have traveled North, South, East and West and really, I have never had anyone been unfriendly to me.

The complaints about Wilmington, DE don't seem to have anything to do with the people who live there. Wilmington definitely needs work and lacks charm, but that doesn't make it unfriendly.

I tried to get through that list but it's like waiting in traffic.

Anyway, I've been all over the USA many times and by and large people are friendly everywhere. Yes, Philadelphia, NYC, and Boston included.

I like that they claim Detroit is unfriendly. I doubt whether any of the people surveyed have actually been there. There are a lot of things wrong with Detroit, but unfriendliness is not one of them.

As is the case with Wilmington, DE, I don't think they're talking about the people being unfriendly, but rather the experience and the amenities are unfriendly. The fact that they lump the two together makes this list rather useless, imo.
