About three or four weeks back I sent a letter from San Diego to NYC, for something that includes a few days' processing before being sent back. It's still not here. How long does it usually take?
I mail from Montana to Ohio every now and then and it never takes more than 3-4 days. Up to 10 for packages. I'd say you have an issue if it's been three weeks.
Indeed. I sent a postcard 3 years ago from atop Palomar Moutain(north east of San Diego) at the observatory there while on vacation on Wednesday and it made it cross country to Raleigh, NC by that Saturday morning. So 3-4 and maybe 5 at the worst is a good guess.
With less first class mail involved these days when there is an error a piece can sit for weeks in a mailbox before a person checks their mail and returns it to the postal service. Overall mail service moves with ever increasing speed.
3 days-ish. Generally, it never should take more than 4 days within the lower 48, and often it's a day or two within the region.
