If I was 22 years old... yes, most definitely. But I am also biased, because I grew up in the state and I don't have any irrational fear of the city. Detroit also has some sentimental value for me, and I would be proud to call it home. It might be more of a scary decision for someone who grew up elsewhere and has only heard the media's portrayal of Detroit.
I wouldn't move to Detroit if you payed me a million dollars & forgave my student loans.
Detroit is dead & it happened under Obama's watch.
LOL... I am a Republican voter and I can't even bring myself to support that statement, it is so off the mark. Detroit was bankrupt before Obama set foot in the White House. It just wasn't official yet.
This thread has potential. But I am afraid it will be ruined by people from across the country who don't know jack about Detroit and what has really happened there. It's a complicated issue. It sure as hell wasn't caused by one political party or the other, regardless of how Detroiters have voted. It is a sociological issue, not a political one.
I read this article yesterday. Not sure what kind if incentive it is going to take for people to transplant from other states to Detroit. Seems most of are rooting for Detroit, though when it comes actually supporting it most arn't willing. I'd like to see it bounce back but I couldn't live there in the condition that its in presently. Though if you gave me a million dollars, I suppose I could make do with a lakeside house and a boat in St. Clair Shores or Grosse Pointe.

How long would I have to stay for? I might consider if it was a short-term thing.
