Phoenix: Not that we have any really dangerous neighborhoods but I guess Maryvale or the "Westside" has the highest overall crime rate and the most riff raff going on

Homewood on Pittsburgh's eastside (city neighborhood).
McKeesport and homestead for suburbs.

According to Mapping LA, the five most violent-crime-ridden neighborhoods in Los Angeles are:

Pretty much all on the west side of the South LA, most of them straddling the 110 and 105 Freeways.

North Houston

Greenspoint aka Gunspoint (Northside)-Shootings and robberies were not uncommon at Greenspoint Mall.
5th Ward (NE)-Nicknamed Bloody Nickel due to violent shootings and murders. At its worst, 5th Ward would have murder scenes of 6,7,8 victims, all of which were from execution style shootings.
Homestead/Scenic Woods (NE)-Don't be fooled by the rural nature of these areas, they suffer from violent and property crime. Rapper Slim Thug comes from this area.
Acres Homes (NW)-Another notoriously dangerous hood in Houston. Used to be very bad in the 80s as it was overrun by drug dealers and gangs. Few years back, a string of murders plagued AH.
Trinity Gardens (NE)-Next to 5th Ward, periodically gets spillover crime from 5th Ward.
Rosewood (Northside)-One of the smallest hoods and among the roughest in the Northside

South Houston

South Park (South Central Houston)- Tough Houston ghetto that was dominated by drug dealing, gang warfare and nightly shootings in the 80s and 90s. Houston police used to chase bad guys up and down Belfort and MLK.
3rd Ward (SE Houston)-Historically, the most violent of all the Houston wards.
Sunnyside (Southside)-Made the list of most dangerous neighborhoods in the country.
South Acres (Southside)-Located off MLK, where rapper Scarface comes from. Poverty and drug ridden, crime is an issue.
Sharpstown (SW)-Like Greenspoint, Sharpstown Mall was the site of several shootings and murders over the years.

I remember the wrestler Booker T, he was from South Park neighborhood of Houston, and he said it was ghetto

Maryvale for sure, also South Phoenix (mainly between 28th St/7th Ave and between Southern and Broadway), and there is a nasty pocket on the east side (20th St to 48th St between Van Buren and Oak)
