Lordsburg, New Mexico.

A weird creepy town. Weird eerie vibe.
With a ghost town "Shakespeare" on edge of town.

Berlin, New Hampshire...kinda "The Shining" vibe there.

You've clearly never been to much of Africa and South America, etc. Real poverty is alive and well in 2013.

I have traveled almost the entire country and have to say that the following places would be my top five:

Utica, NY
Davenport, IA
Norwich, CT
Bristol, VA
Newburgh, NY

Blythe in Southeastern California, near the Arizona border. Something very eerie about that town.

The oddest thing about Utica is that a lot of apartment houses don't seem to have door numbers.

I canvassed that city during an election, and finding the right apartment was usually a crapshoot.

I spent most of my time in the downtown area. It was deserted, the buildings boarded over, but tons of people waiting for buses. Weird, and just not an "alive" feeling city.

I hope things have improved ... it was several years back.

Its East End section of Downtown and the Southeastern Quarter of the city has the bulk of the nightlife there. I believe that Downtown Rochester has been seeing an increase in Downtown housing/living too.

Wow, the NFL chose to locate its Hall of Fame in a backwards town!? There are sometimes towns like that, though, that have one impressive attraction and the rest is not worth seeing. However, the NFL Hall of Fame is on my bucket list (as is Cleveland's Rock and Roll Hall of Fame). Just make sure Buffalo Bill takes a vacation day from his favorite hobby when I visit! LOL!
