I've looked at some stats and I can't seem to find rural areas in the Usa with a high % of blacks who own their own farms.
I know the south comes to mind, but the majority of blacks actually live in the cities, not the country.
My own state,Nj,doesn't have any official rural areas, and the areas that are "rural like" don't have a high percentage of minorities.
Can anyone help me with some info? Thanks..

There actually are some areas of southern New Jersey (parts of Salem and Cumberland counties) which have a significant number of blacks in rural areas. I don't think they tend to own farms however.

That isn't necessarily true.

There are portions of the Deep South that are both rural and majority (or close to majority) black. A very prominent example is the Mississippi Delta region - if you don't count the greater Memphis area, it's both extremely black and extremely rural.

Here's the Black Belt of the South - most of these counties are located outside of large cities and have a sizable African American population:

They actually have a pejorative term (perhaps used primarily by urban African-Americans) down there: country n---as. I'm sure there are self-identified country n---as, just as tons of white people down there and up here identify as "rednecks".

You might be aware of the Law suit that has been going on for quite some time which caused many black farmers to lose their Farms. There are no doubt many "former black farmers" as many of the people involved in the suit no longer farm.
