So I am tired of the scene in DC but I have limited options as to where I can go with my background (Biotechnology and Biodefense). I wanted to get a sense on what are the best areas for a single girl in their late 20's looking to date. Other key qualities include availability to find science/biology jobs, moderate cost of living, safety and cities full of single men. Here are the cities/regions that I was opening to consider:
1. New York, NY
2. Northern New Jersey
3. Philadelphia, PA
4. Atlanta, GA
5. Raleigh, NC
Any assistance you can provide would be greatly appreciated!!!
I heard someone say single girl in their 20's looking for a date so I came running. And you're obviously smart given your profession which only adds to the sexiness factor.
I second creeksitter with Atlanta. A friend of mine's brother works at the CDC. It's a real deal, no joke job with awesome pay and benefits I hear.
If you're looking for a cool place to live with a massive biotechnology and pharma industry--move to Philly.
Really though, if you're single and looking to meet people don't move to the suburbs. Cities force you to do stuff: to walk around, to enjoy the nightlife, to participate in your neighborhood. You know what all of my single friends in the suburbs do 6 nights a week?
Nothing. They troll match.com and occasionally go on applebees dates; it's brutal.
Thanks for the responses! Right now I am working for a large consulting firm and since there are sites all over the US, I will definitely take this into consideration.
I tried Match.com, Plenty of Fish and OkCupid sites but they just didn't work for me.
Reading a lot of previous articles definitely makes it disheartening to be on the East Coast but there are much better opportunities. Its the luck of the draw. I guess I am just not the attractive type to DC's standards.

I guess it depends on your age, according to the map and it only takes 1.
