Id love to hear why the desert, the great plains and the upper/lower midwest beats out new england for you.
I like the natural scenery of the Desert Southwest, the openness and built environment of the Great Plains and Upper Midwest, and the familiarity of the Lower Midwest. On the other hand, New England and the Pacific Northwest just seem shoved off into their own corners, and I don't think I'd fit in very well in either place.
