Id love to hear why the desert, the great plains and the upper/lower midwest beats out new england for you.

Seriously, I don't think Texas fits into any of the given regions, so I'll make my own list by order of preference.

1. Texas
2. Mid Atlantic
3. Appalachian Mountains
4. Southeast
5. Inland South
6. Pacific Northwest
7. Rocky Mountains
8. Lower Midwest
9. Upper Midwest
10. New England
11. Desert Southwest/Great Basin
12. Gulf Coast (been there done that and tired of the hurricanes)
13. Great Plains
14. California

That being said, I've lived in a very wide range of places over my lifetime, including Europe and Asia, and I found something to like about every place I've ever lived, with the possible exception of Fort Hood, Texas (and even Fort Hood had one nice thing going for it - it was close to the beautiful Texas Hill Country!). I could be happy just about anywhere in the US.
