He was born a Scot, and became a US citizen; an American. The phone was created in Boston. He died in Canada though.

Yeah I don't see how that qualifies him as being fully Canadian, especially if he never got citizenship there.

Yeah, I agree. Especially since he was so proud of being an American that he flew an American flag in Canada, and wanted the words that 'he died an American', on his grave. Lol Seriously.
