I absolutely must get out of the area I am in. It is poisoning my mind and driving me down an extremely dark path. So I am looking for a new place to move to. It should be a liberally minded area with good opportunities. Thank you in advance.

I could think of a number of cities that fit these criteria. Could you possibly narrow it down more? Maybe size of city, weather, public transit vs. driving, etc.

Larger city that is more densely populated than typical towns. Probably 150k and onwards. Being able to bike around should be possible.

Those all sound pretty good. I've thought about the first three quite a bit. Haven't considered the last two at all, so I'll look into them. Thanks.

Perhaps cities such as Providence, Rochester NY, Buffalo NY, Madison WI, Cleveland and Des Moines may fit as well.
