Assuming I could learn the language, I'd move. I fell in love with Italy when I was there and I wouldn't mind going back... but I don't know Italian. I think I also would like Stockholm, since I have friends there and the general population there and I seem to be the same there.
Note: I'd rather stay here in all honesty. I feel right in place in this country but these would be the places I would choose.
Yea I feel the same.
Italy is beautiful. I just cant imagine leaving behind American culture. (Thanksgiving, 4th of July, Football Sunday's, etc...)
I'm a liberal American, and I'm proud to be from this country, so I would probably miss the cultural aspect of living in America. If I had to leave, I'd probably go to Canada or the UK, because they are culturally similar enough that I won't feel too homesick, but would at least be more in line with my views.
Yeah, I have thought about relocating to either the Scandinavian countries for graduate school or to Japan or South Korea to teach English. I actually did live abroad for two months in Florence, Italy which was nice.
The only thing that has really stopped me from jumping ship is logistical/legal issues regarding visas, etc.
I'd probably just go to Canada and specifically certain Ontario cities like Ottawa, Hamilton, Toronto, London and Windsor, among maybe some others or perhaps certain communities in Nova Scotia most likely in or just outside of Halifax. I'd consider Montreal as well.
I would temporarily, but permanently most likely not. It has nothing to do with not being in another country but more so my family. I am extremely close to my siblings and parents, and other family members. They all live in Chicago. So it would be very hard for me to leave. Now if they were all spread throughout the world, I would have already done it.
Good luck in Monaco. You can get an apartment in Monaco for only $125,000. Per square meter. Your bed takes up a half a million dollars worth of the space, you can do whatever you want in the rest.
