To me in terms of overall friendliness it goes
1. The south
2. Midwest
3. Tie east coast & west coast
that's just a generalization though. They're nice people all across this great country of ours but just on average it seems like you'll run into more rude people on the coast but that doesn't mean they're all rude just like not everyone in the south shows that stereotypical "Southern Hospitality"
