Just curious about this topic.

For me, I'm not that satisfied with the area I live in (Fairfield County, CT). But my job here is great and I love it.

What about you? Are you currently living in your ideal place?

I was born in Fairfield County, but no, I'm more than 1,200 miles from where I want to be.

I don't think there is an ideal place. But let's be optimistic: Most desirable is a place near people you want to spend time with, whether family and loved ones and/or close friends, and a climate that you can thrive in, and hopefully a job you love or at least tolerate. Throw in a good walkscore, lots of culture, good infrastructure, beautiful vistas, some beach nearby, some mountains in the distance, clean air, good water supply, good quality water, and while we're at it, low taxes, and high pay sure would help. Unfortunately, I have not found such a place.

Pretty much, yep. I always think it's the neighborhood that's as important as the city or region you live in. Lots of crappy or just boring neighborhoods in every city including my own.

Great neighborhood, real nice city, yeah, got that.

Well jeez, at least enjoy it right now. Arizona's weather is currently the envy for at least half the country trapped in this painfully cold polar vortex right now.
