If I could live wherever I want with money hardly being an object at all, here are the main ideal city candidates:

Here in the U.S. I would love to live in New York City (UWS, Greenwich Village, Morningside Heights, Chelsea, Fort Greene, Carroll Gardens, Clinton Hill, Astoria, Jackson Heights, Woodside, or Sunnyside), Los Angeles (Santa Monica, West Hollywood, Pasadena, Hermosa Beach, Koreatown, Burbank, Silver Lake, Mid-City, Beverly Grove, Venice, Baldwin Hills, East Hollywood, or the Fairfax District), San Francisco Bay Area, or Philadelphia (Rittenhouse Square, Old City, Society Hill, Spruce Hill, Cedar Park, Queen Village, Mt. Airy, Walnut Hill, Washington Square West, or Northern Liberties).

As for ideal cities from across the world:

Montreal
Toronto
London
Madrid
Lisbon
Brighton & Hove
Cape Town
Melbourne
Buenos Aires

Spokane.

Not ideal, but one of my favorites.

I like this! But would probably throw in some San Francisco in September - November, if you are changing every season might as well change to four different places-love NYC but yeah, I'm more of a West Coast kind of guy.

Denver, big enough to go out on the town but small enough to not feel overwhelmed
