Weather is not cyclical. The north always has had and always will have god awful weather. The only reason those places had growth in the first place is because of lack of air conditioning and lack of sub tropical illnesses.
I don't believe population growth is cyclical either. It isn't like the north started growing, then stopped growing, then started back up and stopped again. It grew up up until the 1960s and then stopped. It isn't going to start growing again until it has something the rest of the country doesn't.

Okay, so are you saying that the South will continue growing indefinitely and that the growth will never end? And that the north will never see growth again? If that's the case, the South is going to become obscenely crowded, expensive and undesirable to live in. And the north will be a barren wasteland.

The American South is still one of the least populated places on earth. You could put a billion people here and you would still have a small town feeling in most places. Yes, I think it will continue to grow and grow. For at least the foreseeable future (meaning, for the rest of our lives).

It's blind naivete' like this that makes the Sun Belt look so bad sometimes in the eyes of many Northerners!

*Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!*
That's the sound of your credibility being thrown out of the window. So we could add roughly the population of India to the Southern U.S. and it'd still feel rural? India!? Rural!?

It isn't awful to me, that's your opinion. It has four seasons. I like variety. Awful weather to me is being stuck in the same season most of the year.

And also this isn't the only thread where you bash the Midwest. Go ahead and dislike it, but it's not awful for everyone. I'll repeat what Min-Chi-Cbus already said: There goes your credibility. ..
..Look out your window, you see that? That's the last of your credibility flying away.

India is still 60% rural, despite having 1.2 billion people and a landmass smaller than the American south. Who's credibility is out the window?

You should move to Atlanta, Nashville, Dallas, or Charlotte.
Those cities also get four seasons. But the terrible one (Winter) is of much much shorter duration. lol.

Yet, those Northerners continue to move here.....
Oh, and though I was born in Florida, my father is from New York City and my mother is from Louisville, Ky (the blending point of Midwestern and Southern), so I can speak for northerners as much as you.
