I believe that the latter doesn't include other forms of property tax, but just on residential property.

I can tell you that in the last two counties I lived in your info is way off. Our gated community in AL had everything from 2.5mio to 150k, pretty much the same in Texas.

Are you talking about the median home value? That is just the middle number for all of the homes in that county.

I got the information from Brookings, btw.

That is what I am trying to get across - when home values thus tax assessment have such significant differences not only within a county but within a few acres - what value do such statistics actually have?
