What are some other places that you can think of that are similar?

Santa Cruz has California's oldest surviving amusement park and one of the few seaside parks on the West Coast of the United States.

Revere Beach, near Boston, had a rinkydink one back in the 60s. Salt water taffy, clackety rides, the whole bit. I doubt it is still operating.

There is Playland in NY’s Westchester County, not far from Connecticut. It is one of the oldest amusement parks in the USA and it has its own beach.

I was there 50 years ago and it was really nice but I had heard years ago that it went down the tubes.

The beach became a pit in the 70s and they tore everything down. Whole beach was closed from 1978-1993...it was that bad. Pretty decent now but the park is gone and never coming back.
