I am an experienced software developer working with .Net technologies (MVC, WCF, Web API etc) for a long time now. I have also done a lot of jQuery, javascript, Angular js, Breeze.
I am doing some research before I relocate to one of:
1. Portland OR
2. Seattle WA
3. San Siego CA
4. East Bay CA
I am particularly interested in what the job market is like in these places. Like what companies do the most hiring, what kind of salaries can I expect, what's the hiring numbers like etc.
Also, if you had these skills and had to move to one of these, which one would you choose (based solely on the job market)?
I am not sure what the job markets are like, but I feel like anything to do with IT and computers is going to have a good job market in almost all major cities. Just out of curiosity is .NET development your favorite? How similar is it to HTML? I am currently studying computer science and primarily learning Java.
Yea, I am sure all these places have a good IT market.
Being a senior .net developer all these years, I wouldn't want to fall back as a junior or mid working with a different technology like java or php. In fact, I would hope to further my career in .net using all my experience.
.Net is a Microsoft framework using C# or Vb.net. C# would be very similar to java. .Net is just a huge collection of libraries provided by MS to make life easier for a developer. Also, it can only run on windows.
