Name any cultural aspects to the southern states individually that come to mind.
For example, my home state of North Carolina- College Basketball (Duke/UNC Rivalry), Tobacco, NASCAR, Pork BBQ, "The Andy Griffith Show", longleaf pines, Blue Ridge Mountains, etc.

Alabama - boiled peanuts, Roll Tide, Redneck Riviera (Gulf Shores!)
Arkansas - mountains, bluegrass music, black eyed peas, rural living
Georgia - peaches, Hotlanta, genteel, mint juleps on the veranda
Florida - beaches, seafood, sailing, retirees, VACATION
Mississippi - cotton fields, summer heat, Gulf Coast, country roads
North Carolina - mountains, beaches, beautiful terrain, gorgeous small towns
South Carolina - more beaches, Appalachian foothills, small mill towns, friendly people
Louisiana - Nawlins, crawfish, zydeco music, totally different vibe from any other place on earth - GEAUX, SAINTS!
Tennessee - Nashville, delta, mountains, the blues
Texas - pickup trucks, oil, great music, Tex Mex spice, high school football, rural but with fabulous metro areas
Virginia - most interesting state in the union in my opinion (from a history perspective), beautiful farms, gorgeous beaches

I love the south - every square inch of it. It's my favorite place on earth - all of it.

Fabulous! So at least three southern states don't have a state income tax, along with some other states. Yes. I like that.
