Didn't that poll show only Philly people pronounced them all differently?

Speaking as someone with both in my family, I assure you they sound very much alike and are cause for much confusion (and humor) all the time.

"Erin!"

Erin starts with an "Eh" sound like egg or enter.
Aaron starts with a short-a sound like apple.

I had no idea Aaron and Erin were pronounced differently elsewhere...they're homonyms in Minnesota.

All black people say Y'all. Northern blacks say it like Yaw. It's not dragged out. And southern blacks say it like Ya-owl.

Interchangeable for Okies.

Erin is usually used for girls here in Oklahoma while Aaron is used for boys.
