The competition between Los Angeles and Hollywood as to which will become the more dominant city is something I always keep a close eye on.

How do you separate Hollywood from LA? Or a Disneyworld from Orlando. Even Silicon Valley from divided between SJ and SF. But still SF is seen as the lead city with Silicon Valley as part of its whole.

Do outsiders and International tourist separate Hollywood from LA? I say no. One is the other and visa versa. LA is the sum of all its parts as most cities. Many cities their cores define them. Some Old World cities their oldest areas most tourist want to see from the rest. But still one city metro.

Guess I just see things in generalizations.
