Well, I said earlier that I'll go wherever the jobs are, and I found another job overseas. Maybe in the future, I'll start a topic asking the differences between the US now and 20 years ago?
I don't know when I'll return to the US. I'm not homesick (I miss my hometown, as I remember it from the 90s), but it's kind of weird to lose touch with my place of citizenship.
I know very well the subject as I'm living between Europe (Belgium) and the US.
I would say the US is becoming more social liberal (but stays fiscally conservative hopefully) than Europe when Europe is moving into the opposite direction (social conservative but fiscally liberal ...).
Who would have thought than same sex marriage/weed would be legal in most of the US probably next year ?
SSM is not legal is each west European country AND weed is only legal in the Netherlands ...
The thing is, it's mostly young people that are moving US that way, in Europe, it's young people that are moving the countries the other way, in the last elections, it was mostly young people that voted for extreme right parties ..
That gives me hope for America, the young are probably the most diverse/creative in the world, I would say i prefer when I'm in America, I hate the negativity, anti-immigrant, welfare mentality a lot of Europeans have now.
