West coast. Better weather, better Mexican and Asian food, and just more relaxing and not as fast paced.

It appears the jury is still out on this question with neither coast getting an overwhelming majority of the votes so far. So far I have heard lots about the natural beauty of both areas. I haven't heard much about economies, cost of living, education, etc. Any thoughts on these areas?

After traveling the West quite extensively, in addition to having traveled the eastern U.S. very extensively, I can wholeheartedly say that overall, the scenery in the West is hands down better. The East has nice deciduous greenery and grass going for it, but that's....it. It's limited.

Neither. I take the North Coast.
Great beaches and dunes, more light houses, fresh water over salt - no hurricanes, sharks or jellies!
People are nicer.

Something to keep in mind--most of the white people who move away from CA to states like AZ, CO, TX, et al. and end up *loving* those states are usually the ones trying to get away from Jewish, Mexican, Korean, Chinese, et al. groups.

California is one of the "stickiest" states in the entire country--over 70% of the people born in CA are still living there as adults. Needless to say, most white people leaving CA are not originally from CA to begin with. If you've spent any amount of time at all in AZ or TX like I have, you'll quickly see that most white "Californians" who move to those states weren't born and raised in CA, but the Midwest, Northeast, or TX/OK.

Oh, yeah--only 10% of folks moving away from CA have at least a bachelor's degree, too.

Quite frankly, it's a good thing lots of those folks are leaving, IMO.
