Which metro area has the best burritos?

This ranked list of the top 35 burritos in America from the Daily Meal would definitely have you believe it's the San Francisco Bay Area, with 4 Bay Area burrito joints landing in the top 10 and 7 in the top 20. (#2, #4, #6, #7, #11, #16, #18 are all Bay Area places.)

No other metro on this list comes close. LA has the #1 place, but it's the only LA place that makes the top 20. San Diego only has 1 in the top 20 as well.

Other top burrito lists I've seen come to a similar conclusion.

I've got to say that I agree. While the Bay Area doesn't have the best Mexican food overall, it does have the best burritos. It's a completely different level than what you find in most metros.

Yum! Majorly lacking some Denver spots though.

The East Bay has some great burritos, but honestly I think the South Bay is tops - San Jose, Redwood City, and Mountain View have some amazing places.

Probably SF. We don't do burritos in LA- this is the Taco City.

In my experience, San Fran/Bay Area. Love the Mission, San Jose is also great. A clear #1 for me. Underrated - Chicago/Milwaukee, not that they rank up there with the Bay Area, but both have good-sized Mexican enclaves that are serviced by a good number of traditional restaurants, which for whatever reason seems surprising to people outside of the Midwest.

No surprise. It's called the Mission Burrito for a reason and that style has taken the country by storm.

Obviously you can get burritos here, yes. But I mean its not part of our identity the way it is for San Francisco residents. Angelenos don't brag to other cities about how amazing our burritos are.

Now tacos are another story. Our taco game is untouchable. We all brag about it, and rightly so.

Totally agree. Tacos in LA are amazing. The Bay Area has amazing burritos, but the tacos - while good - are not on the same level.
