I thought this would draw some interesting facts and perhaps debates and allow us to learn more about your city. Tell us what are some major historical events that have occurred in your city. In Chicago for example, has hosted some of the most important political figures' speeches from Abe Lincoln, Franklin d Roosevelt, Dr. Martin Luther King, and John f Kennedy. Chicago was the very essence of the Prohibition era of the roaring 20's. Also held important rallies that influenced civil rights in this county. I can supply exact examples of these in future replies.

Cool you see I didn't know Philly ever hosted a worlds fair we did here as well it's really one of the big events that put Chicago as a world class city way back when

New York City was originally called New Amsterdam and was bought from the Indians. Also New York City was first capital of the USA once the Constitution was ratified.
