I don't know BajanYankee. BigCityDreamer is pretty consistent with what he says, lives in the area, makes reasonable arguments and as a result comes off as credible. Looking at your posts in various other threads that touch the subject they are all over the place and regularly contradicting previous and future posts. You also seem to claim intimate knowledge about such vast areas of the country that it just doesn't seem credible. I don't think you are kidding in all of your threads or posts (including on this thread) even if you do admit to making the occasional troll thread. Yeah because DC is liberal, has concentrations of wealth, good public transportation and rowhomes are "reasonable arguments" of why DC is a northeastern city gtfoh. All of things apply to Chicago (with the exception a lot of rowhomes, though Chicago has them too just no where near the ammount of eastern cities) and San Francisco. Does this mean that San Francisco and Chicago are northeastern cities too?

Of course, he's going to say that SF and Chi aren't near the Northeast, so they don't count. I'm not really concerned with that because no one has explained how DC was ever southern in the first place despite its rowhousing, density, etc.

DC was placed on the border of the Northern states and the Southern states so they can settle the location of the capital. Not too far in the North and not too far in the South. It was a central location at one time. DC originally took land from MD (Northern) and VA (Southern), but later, DC gave away the southern portion back to Virginia.

Actually at the time the location of DC was selected in the late 1700s, Maryland was also considered Southern. It was part of a compromise to move the Capitol south.

But your right about the central location, in the South but not too far from the North.

Chicago drains into Lake Michigan-Huron which then leads to the St Lawrence River into the Atlantic. So Chicago, Duluth, Detriot, Cleveland and Milwaukee all are Northeastern cities according to you.
