Dallas: Year-round quality of life, booming economy, cost of living and its (somewhat) slower pace.
Minneapolis: Music festivals, vibrant population and stable economy.

It may seem weird, but NYC isn't all it is cracked up to be sometimes. Many of my successful friends and colleagues are barely scraping by here while those who have left to the south, midwest and northwest all preach how great it is.

Orange County grows on you. its very hard to leave. I've been here for over 20 years and love it.
I'm a transplant from NY, and while I miss the beauty of the Hudson Valley, and Long Island's Beaches, I hated winter. OC is essentially Long Island with nice weather and palm trees.

I made the mistake of moving to Missouri, and hated it so much that I moved back to Orange County after two years.

I think I'll stay in the Southwest for a few more years, but may end up returning to New England. I miss my family and the damn place tugs at my heartstrings too much. It's a tug of war between that and my laid back sun loving lifestyle out here and my career is going very well for me in ABQ to boot with a much lower cost of living. I'll get my money in the bank here and figure it out. I can't live or work anywhere near Boston again as it has way too much congestion for my liking so I may change it up when I go back to somewhere like Portland, ME or Providence, RI.

Will I move from the DMV? Most likely, especially since I would love a nice change of scenery. I love it here as I was born and raised on the Maryland side of the DC area but at my young age, I don't wanna get complacent. I'll probably move out somewhere out of town come 25 or so. The places I'm considering on moving to are San Diego, Palm Springs, Sacramento (also have some family out there), Oakland, San Jose, Atlanta, Minneapolis-St.Paul, Raleigh-Durham-Chapel Hill-Gary, Denver, Seattle, Scottsdale, or New Orleans. I'm interested in Northern Cali the most right now. I might try to maintain a place here at home in order to maintain ties, especially if my family and some of my really close friends will still be living in the area (though they'll most likely be living elsewhere too). Might have the property in Fort Washington, Alexandria, or Bowie...Or in Towson or Columbia up in the Baltimore area.

Yeah I totally understand. Hey if you can make it there you can make it anywhere

Yes and no. I am very entrenched in my city (businesses and other investments) but I love to travel and want to live in many other cities. So while I expect to pursue other projects and opportunities elsewhere, I will always have one foot back in Jax.

What was it that you didn't like about Missouri?

Moved from Birmingham, Alabama to Baton Rouge, LA this past December to escape the rednecks...and ended up in a place with horrible weather and horrible crime. I'm planning another move by next spring with my husband. I'm hoping to move to either Portland or Seattle suburbs, or perhaps somewhere in the northeast. I want 4 seasons....in the South it goes from 90-100 in the summers to a "cool" 60 for most of the winters

Within a year I expect to be out of Milwaukee and out of any city entirely. Probably on a beach along Lake Michigan within 30-40 miles of Sheboygan N/S, but outside any community. I love Milwaukee, but I'm falling out of love with urban living.
