Oh yeah. And my city gets really bad on one side of town. But I'm comfortable and don't stick out like a victim.

My city? There are some places I'd go to at 1 AM, and other places I wouldn't.

Yes.

Would I feel safe going to a gas station or convenience store in the worst part of town? No. That's why I don't.

All cities have good areas and bad areas. It seems rather logical to avoid the bad areas at 1 am.

Only ones I would attend to avoid are ones with licquor stores next to them b/c those seem to attract more shady people, and other gas stations that aren't a "chain" in the area.

I don't need gas. I go out walking at 1 AM in my city.

I'm in Houston. I'm rarely out at 1am...cause I'm a mom of little ones. But yeah, in the right neighborhood if the station has a few people and its well lit. I always practice being alert, take my keys/purse and lock the doors.

Most of the crime in my city seems to occur during the daytime. The thugs have normal hours here, maybe they're afraid of the dark. The only thing that worries me about going to the store in the wee hours is getting pulled over by the fuzz. That really gets annoying, especially if I have milk and iced cream that I just bought going to waste in the trunk of my car.

I live in the suburbs of Austin. I feel safe going to a gas station or Wal-Mart at 1 am. In fact, I do it all the time. However, in certain parts of Austin, I would not do it.
