Question is easy 'nuff. Do you feel safe or cofortable enough to go to a gas station or Walmart at say 1 or 1:30AM where you live?

I ask because I have lived in tons of cities/states and right now this is the only place where I have been nervous going out that late as people get robbed/shot/kidnapped around here from gas stations and whatnot. I didn't phrase that very well but you know what I mean. When I lived in Arkansas I never even had to think twice. I would go get a soda or a beer or cigs or even to an ATM at 2AM and be totally fine not nervous or watching my back at all. Same with my town in SNJ.

I go anywhere I want any time I want because I do not allow fear of the unknown or the dark control my life and how I live it.

That's not what I asked. I asked if you feel safe going to a gas station or convenience store int he dead of night...not if one is afraid of the dark. Pretty simple question, guy.

For the most part I feel alright since I know the area. I don't hang out on the corners of streets here in Hamilton Hill when it's dark out but there are decent parts of the Capital Region that I feel safe in at night.

Let's see if you feel that way in Detroit, Newark. the Bronx, or Oakland.

I don't give it a second thought. I remember once when I had a toothache and was grateful there was a 7 Eleven just up the street open at 3:00 AM to grab some topical medicine. There are maybe only a couple of intersections in the whole city that might be considered dangerous enough to avoid after midnight.

Amen to that statement...although i recognize some live in really bad places and may be elderly, etc..

I feel the same as CSD610 yet live in a very safe area where crime is low..even if crime was high I'll be dammed to feel afraid at the hands of the scum who perpetuate this fear.

So yes, i feel safe going to the quicki mart at 1 am no matter what the circumstances.

A friend met her husband at a gas station in North Minneapolis at 1 a.m. He hollered out his car, she hollered back, she got pregnant, and was walking town the aisle a few weeks later. They now live in rural Minnesota with their three-year-old son.

Who needs online dating and bars when you've got Chevron?
