We currently live in Albuquerque NM and are planning on moving within the next year to a new city. Here is what we are looking for. We are looking for a city that is close to the ocean, where it snows a decent amount in the winter and where the job market is good. We love San Francisco, but it is too costly to live there. We love the way Vancouver looks but would prefer to live in the US. We like old city charm as well. Any suggestions?

I agree with Philadelphia. Boston is great but the cost of living is very high compared to where you are now. Philadelphia will also be more expensive but not as bad as Boston.
Another possibility may the Baltimore area or its suburbs. Again, cost of living is higher, mostly for housing.
Portland ME would work, but I'm not sure about its job market. Providence would also work, but I believe that the job market is shaky. Albany is just too far from the ocean, but fits the rest of the criteria. Perhaps a place like Manchester NH could be considered.
The other Portland. Portland, Oregon. I go there regularly as family lives there and see a lot of job openings there. Then there is Seattle, where the minimum wage is going up to $15 an hour.

Live in southern NH but work in Boston. No state income tax or sales tax there. Tons of snow and Boston is a great city for jobs. New England cities are the most charming in my opinion, partly due to their age and rich history.
