My guess would actually probably be California. I find that states where people tend to be from all different places, full of transplants, etc ... are so used to meeting new people, etc... there aren't a lot of reservations with new people, or strangers.

I think the Most friendly Western states are Hawaii, Washington, Oregon, Colorado and New Mexico.

I think the Least friendly Western states are Idaho, Wyoming, Nevada, Utah and Arizona.

If the Dakota's, Nebraska, Kansas, Oklahoma and Texas are not Western USA then what are they?

But if there was a only West and East, all those states would pass as Western.

My guess is that none of you have actually been to these states and are just basing your opinions on what you hear on the news. Utah/AZ/NM are very friendly states.

That depends on your definition of West and East.

Usually it's broken down in Mississippi River-ish terms. Minnesota, for example, sometimes falls east or west, depending, but the Dakotas always appear west.
