Why do so many people around the rest of the world pay so much attention to the US and get so riled up over everything about it? Don't they have lives?

Maybe because the rest of the world is constantly pointing out America's faults?

That is true. And, I don't know why people love to spotlight America in particular, but in general, people all over the world like to point out the faults of other countries. I suspect it might be because they don't want to focus on their own country's faults.

Is this for real???? We Americans get our faults blasted out to the world on foreign media outlets all the time. We see our flag disrespected, our leaders booed by foreign crowds etc. Here on city data we see the US criticized all the time. Yes we Americans also have our opinions about who in the world happen to be troublemakers, but by far more criticism is heaped upon us then we ever could dish out. America hating is a world sport.

Yup, and since they love to hate or ridicule would say it's long overdue to snap the purse strings shut for the ingrates who bite the hand that often feeds and/or protects them.

Actually if you talk to people who are unbiased and travel extensively, Americans are right near the top of people who are quite open to criticism and pointing out their faults. Europeans for instance are notorious for pointing out your faults while having a hard time rationalizing their own.

I think the rest of the world obsessing over every American move and the extreme judging and negative pressure it gets are a main reason why Americans over most others are able to freely accept and point out their own misgivings. We're just use to it. Like how celebrities are use to having their looks constantly judged, many times unfairly. "Here's a terrible picture of Julia Roberts - put it on the news!".

Normally people get offended because many other countries aren't use to having their faults thrown in their faces, people don't tend to focus on them, they just focus on the big boys faults. Normally its when they say a statement to an American about a fault frequently talked about, and the American has no problems turning around and pointing out their faults - after all we hear about our faults every day worldwide, it's normal to talk about them. Others tend to get more offended because they aren't use to hearing it and it can be a little startling to have a foreigner telling you what's wrong with your country. They find it offensive. Like walking into someone's house and pointing out that you hate their curtains.

I find it to be the opposite. Seems like the rest of the world points out our faults (ie China, Russia, Iran, etc), but those freaking idiots are the LAST people on earth who should point fingers.

Default Why are Americans so quick to point out other nation's faults?

I think Americans are far more likely to attack their own country and tend to ignore the faults of others. For example, teaching our children only about slavery in the United States but ignoring the history that it happened all over the world for thousands of years.

Can you give us an example of what your talking about?
