As someone who has grown up with the Dells, I kind of blows my mind that people from outside the MN/WI/IA/IL region aren't aware of it. Everyone from around here makes the pilgrimage at least once — even if only to make fun of it. Wisconsin Dells truly is a Midwestern treasure!

That being said, some of its charm is lost now that all the countless new indoor waterpark resorts have diverted some business and traffic off the strip. I drove through on I-90 a couple years ago on my way to Chicago and was astounded by all development along the freeway...

I only know the Dells because I used to live in WI. And I know Cedar Point because I follow a lot of amusement park news.

But now living in CO, I would venture most people here have never heard of the Dells. Just not that well known outside of the midwest areas.

I think Cedar Point is more well known than the city of Sandusky. Cedar Point is one of the premier if not the premier roller coaster destination. Battling it out with a few of the Six Flags parks.
