I thought this would be funny, considering how often stereotypes are made about people from different regions of the U.S.

I am going to make a list (below) of different [funny] stereotypes of types of people that can be commonly found across the entire U.S. Then, you have to indicate whether you have interacted (in real life) with that type of person or not. You can also share anecdotal experiences, if you wish. Or, if you want, you can answer the question, "Would you relate well to this type of person?" I will not provide definitions...just define it however you want. Okay, here goes...
  • A BosWash Corridor b*tch
  • A money hungry Wall Street guy
  • An extreme liberal elitist from the DC area
  • An Appalachian hillbilly
  • A yuppie in Chicago
  • A southern Confederate racist old guy
  • A Bible thumper from the South
  • A fake South Florida chick
  • A typical blue collar guy from the rust belt
  • A health snob from the Portland, OR area
  • A wannabe celebrity from SoCal
  • A gambling addict in Las Vegas

I have a dear friend who lives in the Appalachian area of West VA. She has a college degree and is not a hillbilly.

I am originally from Chicago and know people there, none are yuppies.

No one I know who lives in the South, and I know a few people there, are racists or bible thumpers.

One of my friends in the South is in South Fl and is not a "fake."

I lived in Portland OR for 36 years and knew no health snobs.

I have a sister and nephew who live in LA. Nephew works for Warner Bros and BIL works for FOX. Neither has ever spoken about wannabe celebrities. I asked.

Friend works in Las Vegas as an events planners, she hasn't personally met any gambling addicts. I asked her too.

So I guess I haven't met nor know anyone who has met these stereotypes in these area with which I am familiar. Maybe because they are just that, "stereotypes." They may exist but are not the majority so you don't come across them all that often and when they do exist, they can be anywhere. It all depends upon where you hang out.

  • A BosWash Corridor b*tch (Yes. My first job out of college was with Enterprise Rent A Car at Sky Harbor Airport in Phoenix. We had a joke that anytime a flight landed from the BosWash corridor that all of the people were going to be a$$holes. Most of the time...they were.)
  • A money hungry Wall Street guy (Never really met one of these.)
  • An extreme liberal elitist from the DC area (Yes...my college roommate.)
  • An Appalachian hillbilly (Yes...my work takes me to central Appalachia a lot and I've met a lot of people that would probably would be deemed "hillbilly." In my humble opinion tough...these are some of the best people. They have big hearts and they are hard workers. I'd take them over most anyone else.)
  • A yuppie in Chicago (Nope)
  • A southern Confederate racist old guy (Never someone that was overtly racist but I'm sure I've encountered a few.)
  • A Bible thumper from the South (Yes...my grandmother. She is from Northern Georgia and she is a diehard Pentecostal. She is the very definition of a bible thumper.)
  • A fake South Florida chick (Nope but I've met fake chicks from California...I'd assume they are similar.)
  • A typical blue collar guy from the rust belt (No that I can recall.)
  • A health snob from the Portland, OR area (Never from Portland but I've met a ton from Denver.)
  • A wannabe celebrity from SoCal (nope)
  • A gambling addict in Las Vegas (Never an "addict" but I've met plenty of gamblers.)
