First of all, spare me of the every state is equally important/beautiful/has its own uniqueness kind of platitude. It is neither interesting nor original. Not even true.

In reality, what are the state you think the country can live without, without being perceived differently from an economic, cultural and political perspective?

I think the country will be just fine without Oklahoma, entire north west Texas, Arkansas, Kansas and Kentucky. To a less extend, Nebraska, Missouri. Iowa and Idaho seem very unimportant too.

I can't live without:

CT
RI
NY
MA
FL

I definitely need to travel more but I could do without Maine. Not my cup of tea. VT and NH are basically just extensions of upstate NY in my opinion.

Maine is beautiful, why would you want to do away with it? and the only thing similar to NH and upstate NY is the fact that they are both rural. besides that NY and NH are vastly different.

Alaska. It could just be given to Canada as a gift. Maybe a Christmas gift.

California, Texas, New York can survive on its own.

I would like to see some of the original states get merged into something a little larger. For example, Rhode Island & Connecticut can merge into Massachusetts. Delaware can merge into Maryland. West Virginia can merge into Virginia so it can just be one Virginia. The Carolinas & The Dakotas both should be merged into one. Vermont & New Hampshire can merge together into one state.

I dislike this question. 50 states, we are a team.

In other words, states where the population isn't progressive. Yes lets just engage political genocide and get rid of diversity of thought.

Let's get rid of these states and see how much your groceries cost. What a dick post. I mean seriously who needs the bread belt f**kem.
