One thing that always strikes me when I travel, is just how many different and beautiful regions of the US there are - there are positives about every single state and region (and country, for that matter), and friendly people are EVERYWHERE. I give up. This is hopelessly ridiculous. Have a fun thread. The ignorance is too much for me.

It does seem that we have a high ratio of threads where the question is more or less rigged to give a specific poster validation about where he/she lives. I don't see this one being any different.

I'm not seeking validation. I simply want to know if some regions are more presitigious than others. And if so, why?

Only in the minds of the people that live there. The correct answer is NO.

And that makes you think that one is "more prestigious" than the other? Silly thought.

OK, let me help you feel better about yourself.
Your region is the most prestigious in the country, and your city is the best in the world, you have the most intelligent people, the richest people, the crème of the crop. No other region, city, town can even compete with your area. it must be nice being you. Congratulations.

Feel better now??
