Good grief. The last week or so, there seems to be a plague of these kind of troll threads in this forum. And it's always the same usual suspects who start them.

Personally, I could really care less how prestigious or non-prestigious the region I live in is, or is perceived to be by others. I'm happy here, have no desire to move anywhere else in this country, and that's really all that matters.

Apparently that's a concept many of these relentless elitist trolls can't grasp, for whatever reasons. Counting down the minutes until this thread gets shut down by the mods.

Clearly, some are beginning to catch on. Too many self-serving threads, with no other intent than to bash. SOooo sick of it.

Who wrote most American History Book? New Englanders
What region has the least negative Sterotypes? New England
Who fought against/most Resistant to New Englanders Historically? southerners
What Region has the most negative Sterotypes? the South
Funny how that works, right?

No, have you read a history Book? Ones I had in school described Westward expansion as basically a southern plan concocted to rob New England of Political power.
They described JA and JQA, Coolidge as brilliant, Honest, virtuous men handicapped by a bad (Southern) Congress.
Southern Presidents who were not founding Fathers (Jackson, Monroe) as kind of dim witted men and in Jackson's case a bit of a nut (abiet kind of true)
Even FDR's New Deal (especially TVA) is construed as FDR (a New Yorker) saving the South, even though the whole nation was in trouble.

On the flip side the negatives of Northern industrialization get a blurb about 1 paragraph long, until the progessive Era.

Well, there you have it - if you learned it in school, it must be true.

“History is written by the victors.” (Winston Churchill)

Now that you're all grown up, maybe you won't rely on school history text books to develop your understanding of history.

I do not believe those, obviously there is a grain of truth to each of those statements, (The Tenn. Valley was picked for the TVA because it was the poorest of the poor) but the Southern Weaknesses were showcased more than northern ones.
But at the same time there is a kernel of truth to the southern Sterotypes, post-industrialization the south was poorer and more Rural than the North.
