Exactly - it's a transition zone that's as southern as it is northern. I'm not sure why one person continues to deny this fact. What does it gain or take away from anyone?

The Mason-Dixon involved a border dispute between Maryland and Pennsylvania. Maryland thought their border was further North while Pennsylvania though their was further South i.e. Philadelphia would be a part of Maryland, Baltimore is in Pennsylvania. They agree on what is the current border between the state. The Mason-Dixon Line also address the border of Delaware and what is now West Virginia.
