If you are open to looking along the Northern eastern seabord, Long Beach, New York might be right for you. It is very family oriented and there are many young people that are moving into condos along the boardwalk. While it is still growing and developing, it is still a very small beach town.

Ever since Superstorm Sandy hit, many plans have been made to improve the town. There are now concerts on the beach over the summer as well as movie nights where the whole community gathers. We have a small miniature golf course and a series of small restaurants along the beach.

The Long Beach School District is a great one and boasts academic excellence. There is a somewhat high cost of living but it is worth it. The town is small and somewhat dense (pop. 34,000) but I think that it might fit your criteria for a beach town along the Eastern seaboard.
